Question by boo_kitty46: Why does the dollar increase against the Euro the more the Dow drops?
Everytime the Dow drops, the dollar gains on the Euro. I was just wondering why this happens. I thought the opposite would occur.

Answer by downtonothing0because a huge amount of investors in the foriegn markets are Americans. We now and have been for a long time the largest gdp country. So since thier markets are also failing, we Americans prefer to keep our money closer to home. That in turn decreases the value of that countries money.
